Scholarship Procedure

Award amounts above are annual figures.  Awards vary depending on level of achievement, residency status, academic standing, major and financial need.  Academic scholarships are awarded only to new, fully admitted OIT students. If you meet the criteria listed above, all you need to do is apply for admission to OIT and be accepted by February 1 for enrollment in the following academic year. You must meet all admission requirements in order to qualify.

Presidential and Klamath County Scholarships are for fall, winter and spring terms for four years so long as a 3.0 cumulative GPA is maintained at OIT. Recipients must carry at least 15 OIT credits per term, with the exception of students enrolled at OIT's Portland-East and Portland-West campuses who may receive a prorated scholarship provided they are taking at least six credits from OIT per term, exclusive of concurrent enrollment (e.g., recipients with 6 to 14 credits will receive a half scholarship). The Klamath County Scholarship can be combined with a Presidential Scholarship. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students at OIT. OHSU Nursing students, students enrolled in the LaGrande ODS School of Dental Hygiene and students attending OIT through the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program are not eligible for these scholarships. California residents attending OIT through a reciprocity program may receive academic scholarship awards at the same level as Oregon residents. Transfer students must have at least 36 quarter hours of transferable college credit.  Applicants with fewer than 36 credits are considered on the basis of their college grades, high school record and test scores.
