Alumnus, Class of 2013

Why did you choose OIT?

Great job placement with local and government agencies.  OIT is also located in the town in which I reside, so convenience is another benefit.  OIT has the degree that was interested in.

What's the best thing about OIT?

Small class size offers a great opportunity to get to know your teachers. You can actually get one-on-one time with the instructors.

What do you like best about your major?

It is quite enjoyable getting to know other people that are passionate about the same things I am.

What do you hope to do or where would you like to work once you graduate?

I would like to find a job that would take advantage of my enthusiasm for botany and mycology.

What clubs or activities are you involved with?

I am President of the Evening Primrose Garden Club and have held other positions in the past.  I am an active participant in the annual Klamath Kinetic Challenge.  While attending Klamath Community College I was the President of the Science Club, and still participate in club activities and fundraisers.

I am also a member of the Klamath Prospecting Club, LDMA, Prospectors of America, and Klamath Rock and Arrowhead Club.  In my spare time, I enjoy mycology as a hobby.

Do you have any advice for new students?

Persevere through the difficult times.  Find something you love doing and enjoy doing it.
