Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

Oregon Tech offered me what many other schools could not: a hands-on technical learning experience with the support of small class sizes. In addition, the lower tuition and high job placement rate were very appealing to me.

What do you like best about your major?

The Information Technology program challenged me to not only learn new technologies, but to apply my coursework and leverage those technologies. The professors in the department have always challenged me to go above and beyond my coursework and motivated me to learn on my own as well.

What would be your dream job in your major?

My dream job would be to become a security analyst for an IT firm. IT security has quickly become my favorite area of IT because I constantly have to keep learning how cyber criminals gain access to confidential information and how to protect from such intrusions.

What’s your favorite thing to do off campus?

My favorite thing to do off campus is to go run in the back hills. It's pretty easy to run to the O or the K near campus, but venturing deep in hills on the trails is really exciting. There always seems to be a new trail back there I haven't taken and exploring them while running is a great way to get some exercise.

What’s your most memorable moment on campus?

My most memorable moment on campus was when our Ultimate Frisbee club had a large turnout for a Sunday game. We had to play three separate games at the same time with so many people and made a small tournament on the spot. The weather was incredibly warm and sunny, and the end of the school year was just around the corner.
