Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

I chose to go to Oregon Tech instead of OSU where the rest of my friends were going. This is because I feel more comfortable in a smaller classroom, where I can actually communicate with my instructors. I also heard that Oregon Tech was more of a hands-on school where we learn by experimenting rather than reading experiments out of a book.

What do you like best about your major?

What I enjoy most about my major is the versatility that I bring to the table. After I graduate, I am able to work just about anywhere. I can design boats, cars, airplanes, computer hardware, and even furniture in McDonalds, if I want. My degree will allow me the freedom to work anywhere I want to.

What would be your dream job in your major?

My dream job would be designing something mechanical. I know that sounds pretty vague, but that’s what I enjoy doing. I love machinery and I really enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together.

What’s your favorite thing to do off campus?

After school, I enjoy working out at the gym. I have been doing Crossfit since last summer and it helps me clear my mind (and also helps me look good). I also spend a lot of my free time building classic cars. My most recent venture is a 1929 Model A Pickup that I put a ’94 Mustang GT engine and transmission in. Hopefully it will be driving before I graduate.

What’s your most memorable moment on campus?

My most memorable moment on campus would have to be when my friend and I were playing ping pong in Cornett (when we probably should have been studying). Our teacher came over and started playing with us… And then beat us… :(
