Three Tech Baseball Players Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete

LEWISTON, Idaho - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 259 baseball student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. A total of nine student-athletes from Oregon Tech, including three each from softball and track and field earned the award in their respective spring sports.

Three Oregon Tech baseball athletes were selected, as Tommy Wood, Ryan Hayden and Zack Earle earned the award in 2012.  Earle and Wood become two-time recipients of the award having made the list last year.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
