KLAMATH FALLS, Ore -- Oregon Tech picked up its first win of the season downing visiting George Fox University 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Steen Sports Park. The Hustlin' Owls move to 1-3 on the season with the win as the Bruins fall to 1-4 with the loss.
Oregon Tech took the early 1-0 lead when Nathan Wade scored on a long through ball from Jimmie Hernandez in the third minute.
Hernandez was at it again in the 11th minute, this time setting up Ashton Betts who hit bullet , high, just under the cross bar for the 2-0 OIT lead.
The Bruins answered, as Brandon Zebarth scored on a Penalty Kick in the 26th minute cutting the Tech lead to 2-1.
The half would end with each team missing on opportunities over the final 20 minutes.
The Bruins would tie the game in the 65 minute, as Luke Dickens scored on a deflection from 2 yards out.
Oregon Tech's Brady Ulen would score the game winner with just 3 minutes remaining, as he took a long pass, and scored on the run from 5 yards out giving OIT the 3-2 win.
For the game George Fox out-shot Tech 21-9 and also held an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Oregon Tech Keeper Loren Jesson picked up the win between the pipes with a total of 7 saves facing 21 Bruin shots.
Oregon Tech will start Cascade Conference play on Tuesday night at 6:00 pm against Corban University at Steen Sports Park.
