KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Paul Adams, for the third time, along with Loren Jessen and Jimmie Hernandez earned Cascade Conference weekly awards for their respective sports, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Adams, this week’s Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week, led the Owls to a 6th place team finish and narrowly missed out on individual honors as the sophomore place 2nd overall in the 8K course with a time of 24:19.6. Along the way Adams would also break the Oregon Tech school record, by over 30 seconds, as well as put him in the top 10 in fastest times on the CBI course in over 30 years. It is Adams’ third CCC award this season.
Defensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer was Loren Jessen. The Oregon Tech Goal Keeper led the Owl defense with back-to-back shut-out wins over Northwest and Northwest Christian. Jessen made two highlight reel saves against Northwest preserving Tech's 1-0 win. He faced 42 shots, 13 on goal without allowing a score in the two games.
With 2-0 and 1-0 wins over Northwest and Northwest Christian Oregon Tech's Jimmie Hernandez earned Player of the Week honors for men’s soccer. Hernandez notched every goal for the Owls, including both game winners, as Tech won back-to-back Cascade Conference games for the first time since 2010.
