KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – College of Idaho (4-9-0, 4-5-0 CCC) scored a goal in each half and shutout Oregon Tech (5-7-0, 4-4-0 CCC) for the fourth straight game 2-0, Saturday afternoon in Cascade Collegiate Conference action on Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park.
Christian Sanchez gave the Yotes a 1-0 lead as he took a Joao Cardoso cross off a corner kick, and headed the ball in for the goal from 12 yards out in the 32nd minute.
The half would end with College of Idaho leading 1-0. In the half, College of Idaho outshot Oregon Tech 11-9 and held a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. Oregon Tech had great opportunity to tie the game but missed on a Penalty Kick on a great save by Goal Keeper Colin Benham-Marin.
Cardoso was at it again, this time on the 57th minute, he sent a long ball over the top of the OIT defense that found Joseph Bolin, he settled the ball, and beat the keeper for the goal pushing the Yotes lead to 2-0.
Neither team would find the back of the net over the remaining 33 minutes as College of Idaho picked up the win.
For the game, College of Idaho outshot Tech 21-15 and held an 11-8 advantage in shots on goal.
Oregon Tech will hit the road next week playing at Northwest University next Friday in Kirkland, Wash. College of Idaho will play in Olympia, Wash. against Evergreen State also next Friday. The two teams will swap opponents on Saturday.
