Tech’s Dixon Earns NAIA Scholar Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oregon Tech senior guard  Karissa Dixon (Medford, Ore.) earned the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Award for her performance on the field of play and in the classroom, the NAIA office announced recently.

Dixon, a three-time first-team all-conference recipient for the Owls, becomes a two-time NAIA Scholar Award recipient after being recognized by the NAIA national office last season as well.

To earn recognition as a NAIA Scholar Athlete, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a junior in class standing.

Dixon was the only winter sport athlete to earn the NAIA Scholar Award and becomes the seventh athlete from Oregon Tech this year to earn the honor.
