Hustlin Owls Fall 10-8 to Wildcats
ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Wrapping up a six game road trip, the Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls dropped a tough 10-8 game at Central Washington University Tuesday afternoon as OIT fell to 9-23 on the season and ended the road trip at 0-6. Things don’t get any easier for the Hustlin’ Owls as they return home to host No. 3 Lewis-Clark State at Kiger stadium in a 4-game series, first pitch for game 1 is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday.

Oregon Tech had plenty of offense on Tuesday, as the Owls clubbed 8-runs on 14-hits against the Wildcats including home runs by Ryan Hayden and Tyson Dahl.

The Hustlin’ Owls took the early lead scoring twice in the top of the 1st inning on 4-hits. Central Washington answered with 3-runs in the bottom of the frame on 5-hits helped by 2-OIT errors.

Tech trailed 4-2 heading into the top of the 4th inning. That’s when OIT took the lead back, scoring 3-runs on 5-hits highlighted by an Aaron Bocchi (Pictured) 2-run single as the Owls led 5-4.

The Wildcats would tie the game at 5-5 with a run in 5th on a White home run.

OIT once again took the lead in the top of the 6th as Hayden hit his 4th homerun of the season giving the Owls a 6-5 lead. That Lead would be short lived as CWU tied the game in the bottom of the frame.

The Wildcats then added 3-runs in the 7th to take a 9-6 lead.

Tech answered as Dahl hit a 2-run homerun to deep left-center field to make it a 9-8 game but the Owls would get no closer as Central Washington added a big insurance run in the 8th as Oregon Tech went down in order in the 9th to end the game.

Dominic Morris, and Ethan Schlecht had 3-hit each to lead OIT.

Four pitchers saw action for Tech with Kevin Stockam picking up the loss on the bump for OIT.
