CHICO, Calif. – Kassi Conditt, in her first meet of the season, along with Miles Taylor on the men’s side, took top honors in their respective events Saturday at the Chico State Four-Year Invitational today at University Stadium.
Conditt, back to track and field after leading the Oregon Tech basketball team to a Cascade Conference tournament championship, and appearance at the NAIA National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa, earned a first place showing in the shot put with a distance of 42-07. 5. Conditt would also place 3rd in the discus with a throw of 111-01. Both Mary Matchett and Shannelle Cayetano notched a 3rd place with Matchett timing in at 2:22.63 in the 800 meter race and Cayetano going 10-11.75 in the pole vault.
Taylor bested the field in the 400 meter race with a time of 52.08, while Jack Roberts placed 2nd in the 800 meter race in 1:58.72. 3rd place went to Jacob Ovgard in the 100 meter race (11.17), Anthony Padilla in the high jump (5-08.75) and Adam Arrington with a height of 11-05.75 in the pole vault.
