Oregon Tech Opens Season with win at Pacific Union College

ANGWIN, Calif. – Oregon Tech opened up the 2014 volleyball campaign with a five set win at Pacific Union College defeating the Pioneers 25-20, 16-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11. 

The Owls (1-0) will take on PUC again tomorrow at 1 p.m. and then face West Coast Baptist at 3:30 p.m., also played at Pacific Union College.  Tech will close out a five match road swing after back-to-back contests with UC-Merced on Saturday.

Jennifer Lakin finished with a match-high 49 digs, followed by 44 from Renee Baumann and 35 from Kelsey Sampson.  Sampson totaled 10 kills with Mykala Rubey leading Tech with 12 kills in the win.  Megan Holland finished the match with 26 assists with Tori Porter adding 15.
