PORTLAND Ore.-  Freshman Tyler Hieb hit a 3-pointer plus a foul shot for a four point play with 5.1 seconds remaining to lift visiting Oregon Tech past Warner Pacific 84-82 Friday night at Bart Valentine Court.

Trailing 38-33 at the half, Oregon Tech outscored Warner Pacific 51-44 in the second stanza and improve to 3-2 in CCC play and 10-5 on the year. WPC falls to 2-3 in CCC play and 6-7 overall with the loss.

Oregon Tech had 29 assists on 35 made baskets led by Joel Yellow Owl who had a game high 22 points and 8 of those assists which was a career high. 

The Owls shot the long ball very well going 12-24 led by senior Brandon Halters 5 of 10 effort as he had 17 points. 

Hieb finished with 12 points for OIT with Tyler Van Kirk chipping in a double-double 10 points and 12 rebounds. 

Tech trailed 82-78 with 21 seconds remaining, Yellow Owl then hit a big layup to cut the lead to 82-80 with 11 seconds remaining. OIT immediately fouled WP and with 9 seconds remaining Zack Gonzales missed the front end of a 1 and 1 free-throw. Yellow Owl grabbed the rebound, turned and found Hieb open on the left wing, Hieb gathered in the pass and hit the three-pointer and the following free-throw for the 84-82 win. 

Oregon Tech will have a quick turnaround playing again Saturday afternoon at Multnomah at 3:00 pm in Portland, Oregon.
