Oregon Tech out-scored Multnomah University 22-10 in the third quarter to open up a close game as the Owls went on to win 75-61 Saturday afternoon at Lytle Gymnasium.
Oregon Tech improves to 12-4 on the season and 5-1 in Cascade Conference play with the win. Multnomah falls to 2-4 in CCC play and 4-9 overall with the loss.
Tech opened up a 19-11 lead after the first stanza. The Lions repaid the favor out-scoring the Owls 18-17 in the second quarter to cut the OIT lead to just seven points 36-29 at the half.
Tech came out on fire in the third quarter shooting 50% from the floor to lead 58-39.
The Owls opened up their largest lead of the game at 26 after Taylor Jorgensen hit a long three ball to boost the Owls to a 65-39 lead.
Multnomah out-scored Tech on the fourth quarter 22-17 but the Lady Owls held on for the 75-51 win.
Ashleigh Vandenbrink led the Owls with 17 points including 5-11 from the three-point range.
Oregon Tech will next travel over the hill to face No. 4 Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, January 3 at Ashland High school.
