Nelson’s Double–Double and Career High Night Leads the Owls to victory

Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Oregon Tech Lady Owls moved to 13-5 on the season with a 98 -43 win over the Walla Walla University at Danny Miles Court. The Wolves move to 2-11 on the season with the loss.

The Owls came out controlling the game early, going on a 17-5 run over the Wolves before the first timeout. Tech would close out the half extending their lead to 16, with the score 28-12. The Owls would continue in their rhythm through the second quarter of play, as they held Walla Walla to 9 points. The teams would enter the half with the score 48-21 in favor of the home team. 

The second half saw both teams continue to work on the court, but the Wolves could not slow down the Owls. The third quarter would see Tech continue to pull away, as the game extended to 75-28 over the 10:00 minutes of play. The fourth quarter would wrap up the game seeing the Owls put down 23 points, while the Wolves would have their largest scoring quarter of the night with 15 points of their own. 

Bailey Nelson of Oregon Tech had a double-double on a career high night with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists, while teammates Mikaela Shumaker and Ashleigh Vandenbrink each add 11 points, and Carly McIsaac with 10 points. 

From Walla Walla, Alyssa Blankenship led her team with 13 points, while Emily Downs and Sierra Briggs add 11 points each. 

Oregon Tech will be back in action at home on Danny Miles Court Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 5:30pm, as they take on Eastern Oregon University who is 7-0 in CCC play and 14-2 overall.
