Hustlin’ Owls Handle Portland Bible for Second Time

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – It was a new day but the results were the same, as the No. 5 ranked Hustlin’ Owls tallied their second win in as many days over Portland Bible College by an 82-50 final.
Oregon Tech ran their home win streak to 30-straight and improved to 15-3 on the season. The Owls will take a 4-2 conference mark to Washington next week where Tech will play at league leaders Northwest University (8-6, 4-1 CCC) on Friday and Evergreen State (11-4, 4-1 CCC) on Saturday.
Oregon Tech and PBC kept things close as the Owls led by only one point eight minutes into the first period 18-17.
Andy Siverly sliced to the basket to give the Owls their first double digit lead at the 8:24 mark, 30-20. A David Clark trey capped an 18-8 Tech run that gave the Owls their largest margin of the half at 48-28. PBC would answer with a layup at the buzzer, with the team leading at the intermission 48-30.
Portland Bible closed the gap in the second half to 54-37, but could get no closer. A 10-2 Oregon Tech run boosted the Owls to a 25 point advantage, as Tech would eventually win by their largest margin of the game 82-50.
Oregon Tech shot a blistering 63.6% for the game on 35-of-55 shooting. The Owls held the Wildcats to only 20 points in the second half and 33.3% shooting for the game. Tech held a 35-to-22 advantage on the boards.
Joseph Foster led Tech for the second consecutive night in scoring, hitting for 16 today. Myles Daley added 13 points, followed by Andy Siverly with 12 points and a game-high seven rebounds. Kyle Gomez and Alex Zerbach combined for 17 points and six rebounds.
Michael Cooper led the Wildcats with a game-high 19 points and tied for a game-high with seven rebounds. Maycol Rivera finished with 13 points in the loss.
