Tech’s Dixon, Hunter Earn Cascade Conference Honors

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Tech swept Cascade Conference Player of the Week honors with Karissa Dixon earning accolades for the women and Bobby Hunter on back-to-back weeks for the men.
In a trio of Oregon Tech victories, Dixon, a 5-10 guard from Medford, Ore., averaged 15.3 points, eight rebounds and three assists. The sophomore made 51 percent of her shots from the field, 9-of-18 attempts from behind the arc, and 9-of-12 from the free-throw line. Dixon helped lead the Lady Owls to their fourth straight victory with an 18 point and nine rebound performance against Concordia University Friday where she was 7-for-13 from the field in that win.
Oregon Tech is now 16-2 overall and 5-1 in CCC play and next travels to rival Southern Oregon University on Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Owls’ only conference game of the week.

Bobby Hunter, a 5-8 freshman from Reno, Nev., captured his second-straight CCC Player of the Week honor after a pair of 30-point scoring performances during a split for the Owls. The freshman totaled 60 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and five steals in last week’s games, where he shot 64 percent from the field and made nine of his 15 tries from the 3-point line.
Hunter, who has scored 30 points in the past three games for Oregon Tech , was 10-for-14 from the field and 5-of-7 from behind the perimeter against Warner Pacific College on Thursday and then made 10-of-17 shots from the field, including 4-of-8 from 3-point range, Friday versus Concordia University.
No. 3 ranked Oregon Tech is currently 16-2 overall and 5-1 in CCC play and in Tech’s only CCC game this week visits Southern Oregon University Saturday with the tip set for 7:30 p.m.
