LA GRANDE, Ore. – After back-to-back double-doubles, Oregon Tech’s Aundrea Albright, a 6-1 senior center from Central Point, Ore., was named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 15.
This is Albright’s second CCC Player of the Week honor this season after earning the conference award in November.
In a pair of Oregon Tech victories, Albright averaged 12.5 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. The senior made 45 percent of her shots from the field, and 5-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Albright helped the Lady Owls win their sixth and seventh games out of the last eight contests with a pair double-double performances on the road. Albright netted 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 80-69 win at Northwest on Friday, while recording 14 points in a 68-66 double-overtime win at Evergreen, including a shot at the buzzer in regulation to send the game into overtime. Albright added 10 rebounds in that win against the Geoducks.
Oregon Tech, 18-3 overall, will take a 7-2 conference mark into the second half of Cascade Conference action when the Owls host Eastern Oregon University on Friday and College of Idaho Saturday. Oregon Tech and Eastern Oregon sit atop the CCC standings, also tied with Corban at 7-2.
