Oregon Tech Moves Up to No. 7 in the Nation

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Riding a 12-game win streak, the Oregon Tech men’s basketball Team moved up one spot to No. 7 in the fifth regular-season edition of the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 poll, the NAIA announced Monday.
The 18 wins by No. 7 Oregon Tech (18-2, 9-0 CCC) is tied for the most in Division II, while Oregon Tech and Walsh own the Division II active streak for longest run in the Top-25 at 69 straight weeks - the last time either was not ranked was Jan. 11, 2005.
Eastern Oregon also moved up one spot from the No. 12 spot to No. 11, while Northwest University dropped from No.14 to No. 18 – both are the only other Cascade Conference schools in the Top-25. Warner Pacific College and Southern Oregon University each receiving votes in this week’s poll.
Walsh (Ohio) holds steady in the No. 1 position for the fifth straight poll. The Cavs are the only unbeaten team left in NAIA Division II with a record of 18-0. With 436 total points, Walsh also earned all 16 first-place votes. The Cavs are riding a 42-game home winning streak.
Oregon Tech now has a 49-game home win streak, and a 9-0 league mark, as they hit the road this weekend playing at No. 10 Eastern Oregon on Friday night with the opening tip scheduled for 7:30 pm and at College of Idaho on Saturday night with the opening tip scheduled for 6:30 pm. Both games can be heard live on 92.5 KLAD-FM beginning 30-minutes prior to scheduled tip-off with The Danny Miles Coaches Show with Mike Garrard and Bobby Thompson.
