Oregon Tech Freshman Finalist for Prep Award

BEAVERTON, Ore.-Oregon Tech freshman Kassi Conditt was recently named a finalist for the 2010 Johnny Carpenter Prep Athlete of the Year Award. The winner will be announced Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at the 59th annual Oregon Sports Awards show at the Tiger Woods Center on the Nike World Campus in Beaverton.
Conditt, in her freshman season with the Owls, competed at La Pine High School where she led the Hawks to the semifinals of the 2010 OSAA 4A State Championships. Conditt averaged 17.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.4 blocks and 3.0 assists at LPHS last season to earn 2010 OSAA 4A Player of the Year honors.
Also competing in track and field, Conditt finished 2nd in the shot and 6th in the discus in state competition last season. For her efforts, Conditt was named 2010 District Female Athlete of the Year.
The Oregon Sports Awards honors the state's top athletes, coaches and teams for accomplishments posted in 2010. Awards are voted on by a statewide media panel.
Emmy award-winning sportscaster Ahmad Rashad will be the master of ceremonies, and numerous sports celebrities will present awards.
Conditt will join former Oregon Tech basketball standout, and 2010 NAIA All-American, Justin Parnell at the ceremony where he is up for the Ad Rutschman Small-College Athlete of the Year award.
