No. 3 Oregon Tech Rebounds With Win Over Corban

01.30.2010

SALEM, Ore. – The No. 3 ranked Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls got back on track after a tough overtime loss on Friday with a decisive 83-61 victory over Corban College in conference play tonight in Salem.  The Owls move to 21-4 overall and 10-3 in CCC play, with Head Coach Dan Miles moving to within three wins of 900 for his career.

An Alex Zerbach layup gave the Owls their first double digit lead at 23-12 with 12:47 remaining in the first period, but a furious Warrior comeback put the home team within striking distance at 30-26 with just over six minutes on the clock.

Oregon Tech then threw together a 20-4 run that sent the Owls to the half with a 50-30 advantage.

The Owls continued the second period where they left off the first to take a 27 point lead, their largest of the game, just two minutes in.

Corban cut it to 21 points on three different occasions, but could pull no closer as the Owls would move on to an easy 83-61 win.

Joseph Foster led all players with 23 points, while Myles Daley contributed 14 to the cause.  Justin Parnell knocked in nine points and grabbed seven rebounds with Mike Nieraeth adding eight points in the win.  Andy Siverly and Kyle Gomez combined for 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Owls will begin a three-game homestand with a Friday contest versus No. 20 ranked Evergreen State College and face Northwest University on Saturday.  Both games are set for a 7:30 pm tip.
