Hustlin' Owls Remain at No. 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –The Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls stayed put at the No. 3 spot in the 2009-10 Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top-25 Poll #7 announced today by the NAIA office.  Oregon Tech and Walsh (Ohio) share the Division II active streak for longest run in the Top-25 at 59 straight weeks.

 

Despite losing for the first time in 40 games, No. 1 Oklahoma Wesleyan remains the top team for the 12th straight NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 poll. There was numerous upsets last week as the top-10 lost nine times. The top-four programs held their spots from last week’s poll but only three other schools held their positions. Oklahoma Wesleyan notched all first-place votes along with 405 points and holds down the No. 1 spot.

 

Rounding out the top-5 is No. 2 Walsh (Ohio) with 390 points in the poll. In at No. 4 is Indiana University Southeast with 371 points. Indiana Wesleyan University holds down the No 5 spot up from No. 7 with 343 points.

 

 Cascade Conference member Warner Pacific (Ore.) dropped two spots down to No. 7 with Eastern Oregon jumping up 4 spots from number 24 to No 20. Evergreen State makes up the fourth Cascade Collegiate team to be ranked in the top-25, coming in at the No. 25 spot down from No. 20.

  

The Hustlin’ Owls continue Cascade Collegiate Conference action this weekend playing host to No. 25 Evergreen State on Friday night and Northwest University on Saturday night. Both games are scheduled for 7:30 pm starts at Danny Miles Court.
