Hustlin' Owls Move up to No. 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -The Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls moved up to No 3 this week in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, announced today (Feb. 2). As the only Top 5 team to not lose last week, Bethel (Ind.) returns to the No. 1 position in this weeks poll.
Oregon Tech (20-3, 10-4) has now been ranked in the Top 10 in the last 12 straight polls. There are three teams to receive the No. 1 ranking this season (Oregon Tech, Bethel (Ind.) and Cedarville (Ohio))... Bethel is in its second stint this season of being No. 1 - on Jan. 19, the Pilots were No. 1 but lost its first game after the announcement to unranked St. Francis (Ind.) on Tuesday (Jan. 20)... Oregon Tech and Walsh (Ohio) own the Division II active streak for longest run in the Top 25 at 47 straight weeks -- the last time either was not ranked was Jan. 11, 2005.
Eastern Oregon (17-5, 10-4) earns itself a No. 13 ranking up from No 18. Other Cascade Conference teams in this week's pole include Warner Pacific (17-5, 10-4) at No 14 down one spot from No.13, Evergreen State (14-7, 10-4) moved up o No 22 from No 25.
The Hustlin' Owls split a pair of games on the road last weekend, losing to then No.18 Eastern Oregon University 74-63 last Friday and winning at College of Idaho last Saturday 83-77. Oregon Tech will now host No.14 Warner Pacific this Friday night and Cascade College on Saturday night. Tip-off for both games is set for 7:30p.m. Both games will be broadcast on 92.5 KLAD-FM with Bobby Thompson and Mike Garrard starting at 7:00pm with The Danny Miles Coaches Show at 7:00pm.
