Redding, Calif. – Oregon Tech’s Brad Walters belted two homeruns in the opener, but Simpson would come back in the nightcap, as the Owls opened the 2012 campaign with a split versus Simpson University in non-conference baseball action, 11-10 and 2-0.

In the 11-10 victory Tech’s Hayden Wolfe and Matt Miller had three hits apiece, while Kory Locken and Walters added two.  Walters finished with four RBI.  Ryan Hayden added a triple and two RBI and Dylan Rogers a triple.

Dylan Bedortha picked up the win for Tech and Wolfe the save going the final 2 1/3 on the mound.

In game 2, Simpson’s Scott McKeen quieted the Tech bats as the Owls fell 2-0.  McKeen allowed just three hits in seven innings.

Ryan Hayden, Zack Earle and Hayden Wolfe accounted for Tech’s three hits, all singles.  Earle went five innings, allowing just two Red Hawk hits, to pick up the loss.

Next up for Oregon Tech is No. 17 Fresno Pacific on Wednesday, Feb. 8th in Fresno.
