Oregon Tech Needs OT to Slip Past Southern Oregon

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – In what would be the last home game of the season, the Oregon Tech women’s basketball team picked up a much needed victory tonight over rival Southern Oregon by a 68-63 final in overtime.

Oregon Tech moves to 15-13 overall and 8-8 in conference play. Southern drops to 18-9 on the season and 7-9 in the CCC standings.
On an emotional night for Oregon Tech fans and players, seniors Kellie Morey-Lewis, Kelsey New, Nicole Morgan and Lisa Busch were honored while making their final appearance at home in front of a packed Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech junior Brittany Cherry recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. Morgan Hofman finished with 13 points, while senior Nicole Morgan netted 11 points to go with four rebounds. Senior guards Kellie Morey-Lewis, Kelsey New and Lisa Busch combined for 16 points in the win.
The victory for the Owls clinches a berth in the 2010 conference tournament, their eighth straight postseason appearance in as many years. The CCC quarterfinal round begins on Tuesday, February 23rd at a site to be determined.
Oregon Tech will round out conference play next week in Portland as the Owls take on Concordia University on Friday and Warner Pacific on Saturday.
