LA GRANDE, Ore. - Oregon Tech’s Bobby Hunter, a 6-0 freshman guard from Reno, Nev., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 12, announced today by the conference office.
It is Hunter’s third CCC POW award this season, and fourth for an Oregon Tech player (Kyle Gomez – week 6)
On the weekend Hunter shot 20-of-29 from the floor, including 5-for-11 from behind the perimeter, to average 25 points and lift the Owls to a pair of CCC wins over Evergreen State and eighth-ranked Northwest University.
Friday, Hunter totaled 24 points in just 25 minutes against Evergreen where he was 10-of-13 from the floor against the Geoducks. The following night, in a battle of top-10 ranked teams, Hunter finished with a game-high 26 points versus No. 8 Northwest, as the Owls took sole possession of first place in the CCC standings with a dominating 90-62 victory. Hunter would add six rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win against the Eagles.
