Oregon Tech Pitching Leads Owls to Pair of Shutouts at NW Cup

CLACKAMAS, Ore. – Oregon Tech pitchers Taylor Schmidt and Jackie Imhof combined for 17 strikeouts and allowed no runs, carrying Oregon Tech to a pair of wins in day 2 of the Northwest Cup on Saturday.
Oregon Tech blanked Lewis and Clark 8-0 in game 1, while picking up a 7-0 win versus Pacific University in game 2. Imhof moves to 3-1 on the season, while Schmidt improved to 2-1 with the victories.
The Owls pounded out 11 hits, including three doubles and three homeruns in the 8-0 victory over Lewis & Clark.
Shauna Collins, Ashleigh Larson and Jess Plummer each homered, while Plummer drove in four runs and Collins and Larson two RBI each.
Schmidt allowed just one hit, while striking out six and walking none to move to 2-1 on the year.
Plummer, recording two more hits in game 2, drove in nine runs on the day after a five RBI performance in the win over Pacific.
Imhof allowed four hits, while striking out 11 batters in the win over Pacific, and moves to 3-1 on the year.
Oregon Tech is now 5-2 on the season, and is a perfect 4-0 at the NW Cup going into day 3 on Sunday versus Pacific Lutheran University at 9 a.m. and Willamette University at 1 p.m., concluding the six game tournament.
