No. 1 Oregon Tech Falls in CCC Regular Season Finale

SALEM, Ore. – Top-ranked Oregon Tech led by as many as 14 points in the first period, but Corban University would battle back and hang on to upset the Owls by a 90-79 score tonight at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center in the last regular season game in CCC play.
Oregon Tech shares the regular season CCC championship with Northwest University, both with a 15-3 conference mark, but the Owls will take the #1 seed into CCC Tournament play where Tech will host College of Idaho on Wednesday, February 22nd beginning at 7 p.m.

Oregon Tech looked to run away with the contest jumping out 10-0 on the host Warriors. The Owls would eventually double CU, 28-14, before Corban would mount their comeback. CU would outscore the Owls 26-12 over the next 10 minutes, as Oregon Tech headed to intermission with a 43-40 advantage.
Corban used a 5-0 run to gain momentum entering the second period to take their first lead of the game. The Owls, however, regained the lead, 54-53, after Bryant Sentman drove the lane and scored with 13:10 to play. Tech managed to keep the lead at the midway point, 58-56, but the Warriors would not go away.
A Jordan Carter triple gave the Warriors a 59-58 advantage, and after the Owls would tie the game at 59-59, an Erik Cronrath free throw would give Corban the lead for good.
Corban moved up by seven points, 70-63, but the Owls quickly closed the gap 70-66 with 4:15 remaining. It would be as close as Tech would get as the Warriors used a 7-0 run to gain an 11 point advantage to take control. CU led by as many as a dozen on three occasions before winning by a 90-79 final.
Four Owls finished in double figures led by 18 points from Bobby Hunter. Hunter would add eight rebounds and four assists, while Jason Gamblin recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for the Owls. David Clarke netted 13 points and Scotty Riddle 12.
