Owls Sweep Oaks

Atherton, Calif. - The Oregon Tech softball team pounded out 17 hits in game one and Bess Fagan tossed a one-hit shutout in game two, as the Owls swept a pair of games this afternoon over Menlo College, 13-3 and 9-0.

The Owls were down 3-0 heading into the fifth inning when the bats came alive. Oregon Tech scored nine runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to take game one 13-3.

Tech's Brittany Warren went 4-5 at the plate, including a double, homerun and three RBI. Sunceray Titus was 3-5, while Jenny Austin, Kadye Schaefer and Bree Larson all went 2-4 in game one. Pitcher Becca Anderson improved to 2-0 on the season for Oregon Tech.

Bess Fagan pitched and hit her way to her first victory of the season, improving to 1-1. Fagan struck out five batters and had a no-hitter going until a Menlo single broke it up in the seventh. At the plate, Fagan was 2-4 with four RBI, including a three-run homer in the third. Ashleigh Larsen and Sierra Patzke went for three hits each, with Patzke doubling and driving in two runs in the 9-0 win.

Oregon Tech will play a doubleheader versus Dominican University tomorrow in San Rafael beginning at 11:00 a.m.
