Owl Duo Earns Cascade Conference Honors

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech senior guard Joseph Foster (Vallejo, Calif.) and sophomore Infielder Jess Plummer (Eugene, Ore.) earned Cascade Collegiate Conference honors in their respective sports, the league office announced Monday. Plummer was named CCC Softball Player of the Week and Foster CCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

In six non-conference softball games played in Portland at the NW Cup, Plummer helped the Owls to a 6-0 record with after batting .619 with one double, three homers and 13 RBI’s over the weekend. Plummer went 13-21 at the plate, including four multi-hit games as OIT improved its season record to 7-2. Oregon Tech next travels to Medford for four games versus Cal Pac members William Jessup, Simpson and Holy Names beginning this Friday.

In the last two regular season basketball contests, Foster helped lift the Hustlin’ Owls to an outright CCC regular season title, scoring 20 points in a win over Concordia and adding 18 in a victory over No. 22 ranked Warner Pacific. OIT extended its home win streak to 54 straight, and will take a 26-4 record as the No. 1 seed into the CCC’s postseason tournament versus Concordia University on Wednesday, February 23rd beginning at 7 p.m.
