Oregon Tech Split Games at SOU Invite

Medford, Ore. – The Oregon Tech softball team managed a split in a pair of games played at the Southern Oregon Tournament today at U.S. Cellular Field, falling 9-7 to Holy Names University in the opener, while picking up an 8-0 win over Simpson University in game 2.
Oregon Tech moves to 8-3 on the season.
Jackie Imhof fell to 4-2 on the year after going three innings for Tech, giving up two hits and two runs. Amber Knight went two innings allowing six hits and three runs, while Ali Edwards finished the final two innings giving up four runs and three hits. Ashleigh Larson and Shauna Collins finished with two hits and two RBI apiece for the Owls. Both of Collins’ hits were doubles.
Oregon Tech’s Taylor Schmidt upped her overall mark to 4-1 after going six innings and allowing just two base hits to Simpson. Schmidt struck out five, walked none and added two hits, including a homerun and double in the victory. Andria Wheatley finished with two hits, including a double and RBI, while Bree Larson doubled and drove in two runs for OIT.
Oregon Tech visits William Jessup of Rocklin, Calif. this Friday for a pair of contests, before taking on Simpson University in a doubleheader on Saturday.
