Four Owls Named to CCC All-Conference Team

OIT’s Foster Named CCC Player of the Year, Miles Named Top Coach

PORTLAND, Ore. – Senior guard Joseph Foster of Oregon Tech was unanimously named Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Year by a vote of the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced Monday.
The 5-11 senior from Vallejo, Calif., led the CCC in conference scoring average (18.9 ppg), was third in free throw percentage (.837) and sixth in three point field goals made per game (2.28). Foster led the Owls to their third straight Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season title.
For the sixth time, Dan Miles of Oregon Tech was selected the CCC’s Coach of the Year after leading the Owls to their third straight CCC regular season crown. Currently, the eighth-ranked Hustlin’ Owls own a 56-game home winning streak and will be making their ninth straight, and 16th appearance overall, at the NAIA Men’s Division II National Tournament next week in Point Lookout, Mo. Miles is in his 40th year at Oregon Tech and now has recorded 934 career victories.
Junior guard Kyle Gomez was the only other Owl named to the first-team all-conference team for Tech. Gomez averaged 13.1 points and 7.0 rebounds, while leading OIT in assists with 98. After an impressive senior season averaging 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds, Brent Johnson was named to the all-conference honorable mention squad for his efforts.
On the women’s side, Brittany Cherry was selected to the all-conference honorable mention team after leading the Oregon Tech Lady Owls in scoring (11.4) and rebounding (7.4) and finished second on the team in assists (82).
