Medford Pair Earns Cascade Conference Pitching Honors

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech sophomore pitcher Taylor Schmidt (Medford, Ore.) and junior pitcher Dylan Bedortha (Medford, Ore.) earned Cascade Collegiate Conference honors in their respective sports, the league office announced Monday. Schmidt was named CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week, while Bedortha earned CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors.

Schmidt upped her overall mark to 4-1 after going six innings in 8-0 shutout victory over Simpson University on Saturday.  Schmidt allowed just two hits, while striking out five batters and walked none.  Schmidt helped herself at the plate after adding two hits and two RBI, including a homerun and double in the win for OIT.

Bedortha pitched the Oregon Tech baseball team to their lone victory of the week, a 1-0 win at Linfield College in McMinnville.  Bedortha threw a complete game shutout against the No. 8 ranked Wildcats, allowing just five hits on the afternoon.  In nine innings of work, Bedortha struck out one batter and walked one batter to move to 2-2 on the season.
