Grants Pass Dou Earn Cascade Conference Honors

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Oregon Tech’s Morgan Barnes and Ryan Hayden earned Cascade Conference Player of the Week honors in their respective sports, announced today by the conference office.
Barnes, a sophomore from Grants Pass, Ore., has been named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Feb. 26.
Barnes earned a pair of wins in the circle for top-ranked Oregon Tech, as the Owls went 4-0 on the week to improve to 12-2 overall. Barnes struck out 12 batters in 10 innings of work and allowed just two runs. At the plate, Barnes finished with three hits, including a double and her first career home run while driving in three runs.
Hayden, a sophomore from Grants Pass, Ore., was named CCC Baseball Player of the week after helping the Owls to a 3-3 record on the week for the period ending Feb. 26.
Hayden recorded 12 hits, including four for extra bases, and eight RBI to go with five base on balls, as the Owls improved their overall mark to 6-10. Hayden is currently leading Tech in batting with a .389 average in the first 16 games on the year.
