Owls Split with Chico State

CHICO, Calif. - The Oregon Tech softball team came away with 12 hits in the opening game versus NCAA II Chico State to win by a 7-2 final, but could manage just four hits in the nightcap, falling to the Wildcats 1-0 in game 2.
Oregon Tech moves to 9-9 on the year and travels to the Bay Area for single games against Patten and Academy of Art tomorrow and Sunday.
Freshman shortstop Jess Plummer had the hot bat for the Owls going 5-for-7 in the two games, including three hits, two runs and an RBI in the 7-2 win. Plummer added two doubles on the afternoon. Taylor Schmidt picked up the win in the circle for the Owls, and helped herself out with two hits and two RBI in the opener. Amber Knight connected for a homerun , while Kayde Schaefer added two hits and two RBI in game 1.
