Conditt Takes Top-Honors in Shot, 12 Owls Earn Top-5 Showing

EUGENE, OR – Oregon Tech’s Men's and Women's Track team had a good showing in just their second meet of the season as eight Owls had top-5 honors in 10 events, as well as a second place finish in the men’s 4x400 in Saturday’s Lane Preview held in Eugene.
Kassi Conditt was the lone Owl to take top-honors with a distance of 12.77m in the shotput. Conditt followed that with a third place in the discus (32.48m). Tech’s Mary Matchett placed fifth in both the 400m dash (1:04.10) and a time of 2:25.54 in the 800m race. Joelle Swanson took second in the javelin (37.72m) while Alysa Castle rounded out Tech’s top-5 finishers on the women’s side with a 17.95s showing in the 100m hurdles.
On the men’s side, Brady Bowker, Austin Clark, Andrew Jackson and Tyler Park place second, Tech’s top-finish, in the 4x400 (3.32.35). In the 3000m race Scott Minor took third with a time of 8:58.06, followed by a third and fourth place finish by Jacob Murray and Tyler Park in the 400m dash in 1:01.15 and 1:01.63, respectively. Hector Jimenez rounded out the men’s top-5 with a mark of 6.13m in the long jump.
