Oregon Tech Sweeps Past Urban Knights

BRISBANE, Calif. – The Oregon Tech softball team used two solid pitching performances from senior Jackie Imhof and sophomore Taylor Schmidt to sweep a doubleheader from NCAA II Academy of Art today, winning 6-1 in the opener and 10-3 in the nightcap.

Imhof moved to 6-2 on the season after allowing four hits in the opening game.  Brittany Cherry finished 2-for-3, including a solo homerun, while Andria Wheatley added a RBI and Jess Plummer drove in three runs with a double.

Game 2 starter, Taylor Schmidt, improved to 8-2 on the season after scattering five hits in the nightcap.  Imhof picked up her second save on the season, going the final 2 innings in relief.  Ashleigh Larson doubled while going 3-for-4 at the plate, while Plummer added three more RBI after a three-hit performance in game 2.  Bree Larson recorded two hits and a RBI, while Wheatley and Shauna Collins drove in a run each.

Oregon Tech moved to 14-5, after the four-game weekend sweep, and will next host No. 4 ranked Concordia University (7-3) to begin Cascade Collegiate Conference play this Friday at the Softball Complex on the campus of Oregon Institute of Technology.
