Errors Plague Owls in Doubleheader Loss to Corban

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Oregon Tech baseball team committed seven errors in the opening game and allowed 17 Corban hits in the nightcap, as the Owls fell to the Warriors by 8-5 and 9-8 scores.
Oregon Tech falls to 7-15 on the season, while Corban picked up their first two wins on the year to move to 2-13.
After falling behind 8-0 in the opening game, a 5 run rally in the eighth-inning got OIT to within three runs, but the game would end by the same 8-5 score.
After trailing 7-2, Corban rallied for five runs in the eighth-inning of game 2 to tie the game 7-7, and after both OIT and CU plated single runs in the 10th inning, the Warriors would push across the game-winner in the 12th to win 9-8.
Trent Smith finished with two hits in each game, including two doubles. Zack Earle doubled in the opener and added two hits in game 2, while Phil Sacks tripled in game 1.
Sacks, Kyle Conner, Colin Stock and Dylan Rogers had two hits each for the Owls in game 2, while Matt Bellando added two RBI.
Oregon Tech will host Simpson University in NAIA West South division play this Saturday and Sunday at Kiger Stadium. The first pitch on both days is scheduled for 11 a.m.
