PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech senior pitchers Jackie Imhof (Portland, Ore.) and Matt Bellando (Eugene, Ore.), along with freshman shortstop Shauna Collins (Roseburg, Ore.), earned Cascade Collegiate Conference honors in their respective sports, the league office announced Monday.
Collins was named CCC Softball Player of the Week; Imhof earned CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week honors, while Bellando was named CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
In his lone appearance, Bellando tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out eight batters in an 8-0 victory over Corban University. In the win, Bellando went seven innings to pick up his first win of the season for Tech.
In four non-conference softball games played in the Bay Area last week, Collins batted .462, after a 6-for-13 effort at the plate, and drove in six runs. She also scored 10 runs and added a double, triple, and two stolen bases.
In three appearances for OIT on the week over NCAA II opponents, Imhof picked up two wins and a save to earn her second POW honor on the season. In 15 1/3 innings of work Imhof struck out 26 batters, allowed just nine hits in the three games, while giving up just one run and one walk, including a 0.45 ERA for the weekend.
