POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. –After an honorable mention All-American nod in 2010, Oregon Tech senior guard Joseph Foster (Vallejo, Calif.) was named a First Team NAIA Division II All-American in 2011, announced Wednesday by the national office.
Earlier this year Foster was named to the All-Conference team, while being named the 2011 Cascade Conference Player of the Year after leading Oregon Tech to a 16-2 conference mark.
Foster led Oregon Tech to a 30-5 overall record, along with a third straight regular-season and third straight conference tournament title, while helping the Owls reach the 2011 NAIA II “Sweet 16” before bowing out in the second round to Indian Wesleyan.
Foster led the Owls in scoring this season averaging 19.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists. In just two seasons for the Owls, Foster eclipsed the 1,000 point mark and currently ranks 12th all-time with 1,281 career points.
Foster becomes the eighth first team All-American for the Hustlin’ Owls, joining Justin Parnell, Jguwon Hogges, Ryan Fiegi, Levell Hesia, Rafid Kiti, Saif Abdur-Rahman and LaMont Swinson.
