Oregon Tech’s Parnell Tabbed First Team NAIA All-American, Foster HM

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. –Oregon Tech senior guard Justin Parnell (Sutherlin, Ore.) was named a first team NAIA Division II All-American announced Tuesday by the national office. Teammate Joseph Foster (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) was named to the NAIA honorable mention team. Parnell was the 2010 Cascade Conference Player of the Year, while Foster was named to the all-conference first-team.
Parnell and Foster led Oregon Tech to a 30-5 overall record, and back-to-back regular-season and Cascade Conference tournament championships. The Owls reached the 2010 NAIA II “Sweet 16” before falling to the eventual national champion St. Francis of Indiana.
Parnell led the Owls in scoring this season averaging 17.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists. Parnell also eclipsed the 1,000 point mark and currently ranks 18th with 1,147 career points – all in just two seasons with the Owls. Foster averaged 16.8 points and 3.3 assists.
Parnell is the seventh first team All-American for the Hustlin’ Owls, joining Jguwon Hogges, Ryan Fiegi, Levell Hesia, Rafid Kiti, Saif Abdur-Rahman and LaMont Swinson.
