Owls Go 1-2 in Tripleheader at Menlo

Atherton, Calif. – With weather forcing the Oregon Tech baseball team into a tripleheader today at Menlo College, The Owls pounded out 20 hits in a 13-12 win in game 1, but would drop game 2 by an 8-2 final, while the final game also went to the Oaks 8-5.
Oregon Tech is 9-14 overall and 3-4 in NAIA West action.
Kory Locken drove in five runs in game 1, including a 4-for-6 effort at the plate with a double and triple. Hayden Wolfe finished with four hits in the opener, including a homerun, while Kevin Shulemson and Dylan Rogers finished with three hits each. Rogers added a triple and double and drove in a run, while Shulemson added a double and two RBI.
Aaron Jorgensen went the first seven innings in a no decision, while Wolfe picked up the win to move to 3-1 on the season.
Oregon Tech managed just five hits, all singles, in an 8-2 game 2 loss, with Locken and Tommy Wood driving in both Tech runs in the game.
Oregon Tech scored three runs in the opening inning of game 3, while a single run in the second inning kept the game at 4-4. A three run seventh inning for Menlo was the big blow, as the Owls fell in the nightcap 8-5.
Locken added two more hits in the game, including a triple and RBI with Rogers connecting for his second homerun of the season while driving in three more runs.
