Schmidt Earns Second CCC Pitcher of the Week Award

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –Oregon Institute of Technology’s Taylor Schmidt, a 5-10 sophomore from Medford, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week for her effort during the week of March 21-27. It is Schmidt’s second POW award this year.
In three appearances in the circle, Schmidt earned three road victories during the week. Schmidt allowed three hits each to No. 4 Concordia University and The College of Idaho, while giving up just one hit at Eastern Oregon. Schmidt struck out 11 batters and did not allow any runs in the 19 inning span. Schmidt also helped herself with the bat with a 7-for-15 effort at the plate, including a homerun and six RBI.
Oregon Tech (19-6, 5-1 CCC) resumes play this Friday and Saturday with conference doubleheaders versus Northwest Christian and Corban University at the Softball Complex on the campus of Oregon Institute of Technology.
