Oregon Tech Ranked No. 24 in NAIA Softball Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After receiving votes in the preseason NAIA rankings, the Oregon Tech softball team cracked the top-25 and sit at the No. 24 spot in the second regular-season edition of the 2011 NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday.

Oregon Tech has gone 10-1 in its last 11 games, including two wins against nationally-ranked Concordia (Ore.) on March 21.  The Owls are currently 19-6 on the season and in first place in the Cascade Conference standing with a 5-1 mark. 

The last time the Owls were ranked in the Top 25 poll was 2008 when they were ranked as high as No. 12, their second highest ranking.   The highest an Oregon Tech team has climbed was No. 11 in 1998.

Oregon Tech will play at home for the first time when they face Northwest Christian in a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 2 p.m., while Saturday’s doubleheader versus Corban starts at 11 a.m.
