Two Owls finish in top-10 at WU Invitational

SALEM, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Jessie Robertson and Rachel Novak picked up top-10 finishes for the Owl women at the Willamette University Invitational held Friday in Salem - The Owls’ only competition for the week.  Saturday’s Oregon Tech Invitational was cancelled due to snow and poor weather conditions forecast in the Klamath Basin this weekend.   

 

Robertson went 120 feet in the hammer for a third place finish in that event, Oregon Tech’s top finisher, while Novak covered the 1500 meter race in four minutes, 58.19 seconds and good for an eighth place finish.  OIT’s Amanda McMillan crossed the finish line in 23rd in the 1500 meter with a time of 5:20. 27.

 

Leading the Oregon Tech men was Darrick Waugh placing 26th in the 5,000 meter race in 16:15.10, while OIT’s Walter Ross had a best throw in the hammer at 123-5.
