Tech’s Burns Finishes 9th at Cascade Conference Heptathlon

OREGON CITY, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University’s Kimmy Moore claimed the Cascade Collegiate Conference heptathlon title Friday, cruising to the win with a total of 4481 points, finishing 400+ points over the nearest competitior, NyEma Sims, of Concordia, who had 3,727 points.

Oregon Tech’s Breanna Burns entered the second day with 1731 points after four events.  In today’s events Burns amassed 1127 points for a total of 2858 for the two day event.  Burnse went 14-03 in the long jump to gain 388 points, while a 87-11 throw in the javelin produced 416 points.  In the 800 meter race Burns finished with 323 points, placing 9th overall in the Cascade Conference multi event.

Oregon Tech will host the Cascade Conference track & field meet beginning Thursday, May 10th through Saturday, May 12th at John F. Moehl Stadium on the campus of Oregon Tech.
