Oregon Tech Sweeps CCC Softball Honors

Softball Pitcher of the Week

Oregon Tech’s Taylor Schmidt, a junior from Medford, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 9; this is the second week in row for Schmidt to receive this honor.
In six games over the week, Schmidt picked up five wins for the No. 6 ranked Hustlin’ Owls to move to 17-2 on the season. The junior also earned her second save of the season, going the final 2.2 innings in an 8-5 win over NCU.
At the plate, Schmidt recorded six hits and scored six times to help the Owls to a 6-0 mark on the week as the Tech sits atop the CCC standings at 13-1.

Oregon Tech’s Kayde Schaefer, a senior from Beaverton, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week for the period ending April 9.
Schaefer finished the week with nine hits, including five for extra bases. The senior hit four 2-run home runs and a double. Schaefer drove in 10 runs and scored six times. She had a .500 batting average, and a 1.278 slugging percentage to lead No. 6 Oregon Tech to a 6-0 week.
