Owls-Yotes Split Doubleheader

Caldwell, ID - College of Idaho and Oregon Tech split a doubleheader today at College of Idaho. The Yotes won game 1 on an 8th inning walk off homerun off the bat of shortstop Amy Rhoades. In the night cap, Oregon Tech won 6-2 out hitting C of I 12-6. With the split the Yotes go to 15-14 on the season and 7-3 in the CCC. Oregon Tech moves to 14-13 overall and 4-6 in the CCC.

In game 1, Freshman Jody Zillner pitched 8 innings, getting the win for C of I, allowing just 1 run on 3-hits, improving to 8-7. Tech's Becca Anderson pitched 7 innings, allowing 8-hits and 2 runs, as she dropped to 8-5 on the season.

In game 2, Oregon Tech broke up a 2-2 tie with 3-runs in the top of the 4th on 4-hits. Oregon Tech's Sunceray Titus and Katie King each had 3-hits in 4 at bats to lead the Tech offense. The Hustlin' Owls only allowed 6-hits as Amber Knight pitched 4-innings, allowing just 4-hits in getting the win and improving her record to 2-2 on the season. Becca Anderson pitched 3-innings giving up just 2-hits as she picked up her first save of the year.

Oregon Tech will now travel to Eastern Oregon University for a doubleheader beginning Saturday at 11:00 am.
