Two Owls Earn Conference Honors

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech senior Sarah Schelb (Chiloquin, Ore.) and freshman Jess Plummer (Eugene, Ore.) earned Cascade Collegiate Conference honors in their respective sports, the league office announced Monday. Schelb was named CCC field Athlete of the Week and Plummer CCC softball Player of the Week.

In six conference games last week, Plummer helped the Owls to a 4-2 record after a 10-for-22 effort at the plate, including six runs, three RBI and four doubles. Plummer currently leads the softball team in five categories, including hits, doubles, homeruns, RBI to go with a team-leading .388 batting average. Oregon Tech stands in second place in the conference standings and resumes play at home this Friday with a conference doubleheader versus Corban College.

came away with top honors in the javelin. Sarah went 45.66m on her first throw of the weekend, out-distancing the next closest competitor by 28 feet 5 inches. With her toss of 149-10 on Saturday, Schelb currently ranks third in the NAIA . Schelb will have at least five more events to improve on her distance before competing at the NAIA national meet in late May.
