Owls Tie School Mark, Clinch South Division

Scotts Valley, CA - The Oregon Tech baseball team tied a school record for wins in a season with a doubleheader sweep today over Bethany University. Oregon Tech improves to 28-19 on the season with an 8-1 win in the opener and a 13-0 victory in the nightcap. The Owls also clinch the South Division title of the NAIA West with the two wins and are now 20-6 in conference play.

Josh Strom went the distance in game #1, his third straight complete game performance, improving his record on the mound to 7-4. Strom struck out seven batters and gave up only four hits in his seven innings of work. Zach Earle had three hits, including two homeruns and three RBI in the opening game. Ryson Mauricio tied the Oregon Tech homerun record with his 13th homerun of the season.

Earle had two hits in the nightcap, including his third homerun of the afternoon. Kory Locken, Trent Smith, Ryan Smith and Mauricio had two hits each for the Owls in game #2. Neil Emerson gave up five hits and struck out five Bruins in his nine inning complete game shutout. Emerson moved to 5-3 with the win.
